Mark-Dominik Kantorovic was born on 6 July 1992 in Kaunas - Lithuania. From 1999 to 2004 he has studied at the “Juozo Naujalio“ Music College under the renowned pedagogue Birute Kumpikiene. He is a winner of many national as well as international music competitions, such as the “Muzikos garsai“ competition in Lithuania (2000), the International competition ''Amadeus'' in the Czech Republic, the ''J.Haydn'' competition in Lithuania (2002), the ''J.S. Bach'' competition in Lithuania, the ''Val Tidone'' competition in Italy (2003) and the International N. Rubinstein competition in France (2004).

Thanks to these successes, in 2005 Mark has received a congratulatory letter from the former Lithuanian President - Valdas Adamkus.

In 2004, the family moved to Cologne, Germany, where Mark is currently studying at Hildegard-von-Bingen Gymnasium. Since the winter semester 2005/06 he is a young student at the Music Academy of Cologne under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. h.c. Arbo Valdma. His chamber music teacher is Prof. Anthony Spiri. Mark used to be a student of ‘’Pre College Cologne’’ an educational institution for young talented musicians working under the Music Academy, lead by Prof. Ute Hasenauer. Since then, Mark is giving regular concerts as a soloist as well as in chamber music.

In 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 he was awarded various prizes in solo and 4-hands / duo categories of ‘’Jugend musiziert’’ in its regional and national German competitions. In 2005, Mark and his friend Yuhao Guo established a very successful piano duo - “MaYDuo”.

In 2007 Mark became a scholarship holder of “Erlin & Heinz Allekotte Stiftung”. In March 2008 and 2011 he took part in the “Interlationale Musiktage Koblenz”, where he also attended Prof. Valdma’s masterclass. In the same year, Mark took part in the “Ecole Traditionelle Russe de Piano” masterclass series with Prof. Valdma and Prof. Djordje Milojkovic in Geneva. There he was awarded with a scholarship for taking a masterclass in 2010. In the summer of 2009, Mark has visited the “LAUS Summer Academy Dubrovnik” in Croatia. In July 2010 he attended Prof. Anthony Spiri's masterclass in the „Europäischen Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst - Palazzo Ricci“ Montepulciano/Italy.

On the TV channel WDR Mark's life and musical activities as a young student have been presented in a special program. He has performed in various famous concert halls, among others in Cologne Philharmonic Hall, Gürzenich Cologne, Anserment Saal in Geneva, Kaunas Philharmonic Hall and Pärnu Concert Hall.

Mark has also appeared as a soloist with Kasino-Gesellschaft Leverkusen Orchestra and Pärnu City Orchestra (Estonia). In autumn 2010 he was on tour with Youth Orchestra of North Rhine-Westphalia as pianist and celesta-player.
