Lydia Maria Bader was born in Bavaria/Germany. Her first piano lessons she received at age 4. She studied at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Munich with K.-H. Mrongovius and Michael Schäfer, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Michel Beroff and at the Kunstuniversität Graz with Markus Schirmer. In addition, she attended masterclasses with András Schiff, Jacques Rouvier, Joaquin Soriano, Mikhail Vosskressenky, Pascal Devoyon, Bernard Ringeissen and Ludwig Hofmann. Since age 6 she won 13 first prizes in german national competitions and was a laureate in several international competitions e.g. FLAME 2005 in Paris. In 2008 she won the 1st prize in the Glière-Competition in Germany. She received scholarships from “Jürgen Ponto Stiftung”, “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” and Giesecke & Devrient (CD recording in 2004). In 2006 she participated in the official CD-recording “Young German Pianists” of the University for Music in Munich. Lydia Maria Bader has performed in many european countries and Asia. She is frequently invited at festivals such as “Musique au coeur des Barronies” in France, or the “Festwochen Gmunden” in Austria where she performed in 2007 the 2nd concerto by Rachmaninov and in 2002 the 1st concerto by Liszt. In summer 2009 she performed her first concert tour in China, with solo recitals and master-classes. In addition to her solo performances she enjoys playing chamber music, also in exceptional duos, like piano-french horn or, since 2010 piano- guitar.
