Musician
Born in Torres Novas, Portugal, in 1984. Began his musical studies in the conservatory Choral Phidellius, and after, in the Escola Profissional de Artes da Beira Interior-covilhã. Has participated in Master Classes under the supervision of the following clarinetists Philipe Cuper, Alain Damien, Antony Pay, Michel Arrignon and others. Most of his work has been devoted to chamber music with various formations. He played as a soloist with the String’s Orchestra of Russia, ESMAE Orchestra, Portuguese Symphonic Band, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Algarve Orchestra and Cascais Chamber Orchestra. He Worked with some conductors as Zoltán Kocsis, Gilbert Varga, Jean Cober, Lawrence Foster, John Nelson, Simone Young, Pascal Rophér, Michel Corboz, Leonel Bringuier, Fabio Luisi, Jun Markl, Michael Zilm and so many others. Participated in Orchestral Tours and played in prestigious auditories as Concertgebouw Orchestra, Champs-Élysées (Paris), Spain National Orchestra auditory and some Germany auditories. Played with renowned soloists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Lang Lang, Zoltan Kocsis, Artur Pizarro, David Lefevre, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Kissin, Hélène Grimaud, Sequeira Costa, Sokolov, Arcadi Volodos, Truls Mork, Julia Fisher, Alisa Weilerstein and others. Was invited by conductor Yuri Nasuschin to participate in the Music Festival of Asturias (Spain). Was Finalist in the Valência International Competition in 2002 and in the International Competition (I.C.A. – Washington) in 2003; s/ Finalist in the International Competition Ciudade de Dos Hermanas in 2004 and in the Atlanta International Competition in 2006. First Prize in the “Helena Sá e Costa” competition in 2003; Grand Prix in the Interpretation International Competition; First Prize in the young musicians competition level A and “Maestro Silva Pereira” prix in 2006 in Portugal. In the same year, received “Eng. António de Almeida” Prix by the I.P.P. In 2006 concluded the High School in the class of António Saiote. In the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 season was soloist B of Gulbenkian Orchestra.
