Grigory Zaytsev is a russian composer, born 1983 in Novosibirsk (Siberia), who currently lives in Moscow, Russia. Commonly, he writes symphonic and chamber music in modern academic style and music for russian folk instruments.

Zaytsev studied at the Novisibirsk Music College the viola, at the Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory the viola with professor Yuri Mazchenko and composition with professor Yury Yukechev. Then I studied in the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow with professor Kirill Volkov. Since 2008 he has been studying in postgraduate course in the Gnesin Academy of Music with Kirill Volkov (composition) and Elena Wjaskova(theory).

Since 2007 he has been working in The Schnitke Music Institute as a teacher. He teaches three courses: instrumentation, texture and score analysis.

Zaytsev wrote two symphonies, violin concerto, cello concerto, viola d’amore concerto, mandolin concerto, two concertos for balalaika, and many other works. Among the performers of his music are Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio under Vladimir Fedoseev, Orchestra of the state Hermitage of Russia under Alexander Titov, The Ural Academic Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments “Moscow” and many other Russian Orchestras.

He received 17 awards in International and national composers competitions.
